Simz Ngema Explains Why She Removed Her Wedding Ring

Simphiwe Ngema has revealed she’s taken her wedding ring off a year after losing her husband Dumi Masilela in an attempted hijacking that lead to his death.

Dumi Masilela, died following a hijacking ordeal last year in Tembisa. Masilela spent the night fighting for his life in hospital after being shot during an attempted hijacking.

Taking to Instagram three days ago, after having completed the traditional process of mourning for a year, Dumi Masilela said now ‘felt like the right time’ to remove the jewellery

Speaking about the ring in a social media post, Simphiwe said: “We have a love-hate relationship, sometimes I look at you and I smile. Sometimes I look at you and my heart bleeds. It’s almost time to let you go and the thought of living without you makes me anxious but holding on to you is more painful. I promise to keep you safe and to one day give you to the woman who will be Kgosi’s heart keeper. I will love you, forever and always. (sic)”
