Pearl Thusi Comes Under Fire For Slamming EFF H&M Store Vandalism

TV and radio personality Pearl Thusi has come under for slamming EFF H&M store vandalism.. The protest came after an advertisement by Swedish clothing retail brand Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) which showed a black child in a green hoodie written: “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle”. The company now faces accusations of racism following the release of an image from its boys’ fashion range.

On Sarturday, 13th January, protesters broke windows at an H&M branch at the Menlyn Park shopping centre in Tshwane‚ leaving an entire floor at the centre shut down. There were also reported incidents of vandalism at Clearwater Mall in Johannesburg, Sandton City and Mall of Africa while EFF members held a peaceful demonstration at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Pearl Thusi then took to twitter to challenge Mbuyiseni’s unapologetic tweet about the whole matter. labelling protestors as savages, then she faced a Twitter backlash as a result.
