Master KG emotional after hugely successful show in Ethiopia
The producer of one of 2020’s biggest hit-songs, “Jerusalema”, Master KG shares the emotional rollercoaster he felt after his monster show in Ethiopia had fans singing along to his music.
Master KG described how difficult 2020 was for him professionally, given all of the restrictions that came with Covid-19 lockdown. From not being able to travel abroad for tours to not being able to invites friends and colleagues over for music production, the superstar producer felt the full weight of the pandemic and it’s effect on the world and the economy.
The massive silver-lining was despite how much the world was forced to adapt to the conditions of the global crisis, with many suffering significant losses in the process, hit song Jerusalema steadily climbed the charts regardless and earned its place among the countries greatest pieces of music ever produced. According to reports made by several news outlets, the most significant part of the song’s success for him was that it became an anthem of hope for so many South Africans during a very dark time in the world’s history.
When word of a vaccine for Cocvid-19 arriving in South Africa, and travel restrictions loosening up, Master KG began his significant journey of getting his passport in order, which him culminated in him finally being able to travel to Ethiopia and perform a sold out concert which was so successful, it left the seasoned musician stunned by the positive reception his music was given by the crowd.
