Idols SA Fans Cry Out For Somizi Mhlongo.

On the 6th of August 2021 Idols SA fired Somizi Mlongo after a scandal that was leaked, that he was abusing his ex husband Mohale Motaung emotionally and physically. Somizi Mhlongo’s world is in ruins and it looks like everything is falling apart since the allegations which led to Multi Choice’s decision to let go of the Idols SA judge.

M-Net and Mr Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols in light of allegations made against him. We have reached a mutual agreement that Mr Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved.

The viewers are still unhappy, and want ‘Somgaga’ back on the show regardless of the decision made for the TV personality, choreographer to step down from his judging duties. As we all know, Somizi has a huge number of loyal fans who vowed to stop watching the show if their favourite idol left the show, and it is reported that the viewers rating has decreased since Somizi Mhlongo left idols

According to reports, the show went from more than 1 million viewers per month to only 693k viewers.

That means Idols SA lost 31.89% of subscribers in August. With this number, the show has dropped to the 10th most-watched show on DStv.

As soon as the first episode aired without Somizi, his fans began to express their displeasure at having to watch it without their idol.
