DJ Fresh And Euphonik Dodge A Legal Bullet

Sexual Abuse Charges Dropped Against DJ Fresh And Euphonik

World famous South African entertainers, DJ Fresh and Euphonik have recently come under fire with allegations of sexual abuse.  The latest of the women who have come forward have added their case to a long list of previous instances that have been sited against the two radio personalities over the years.

It was announced earlier today that the National Persecuting Authority has decided not to move forward with the charges, and has dropped them due to insufficient evidence.  NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana further elaborated that the case was presented to the prosecutor who then examined the evidence and concluded that there wasn’t enough there for a successful prosecution, thus leading to the decision of not moving forward with the case.

An advocacy agency known as the “Women Inspired Solutions For Empowerment” (Wise) also reported that the victim was informed by the NPA via whatsapp that the charges were dropped, and sited this to be a very callous and insensitive handling of such a significant and life altering case.

The thought of having literally spent years building the courage to finally step forward and pursue truth and justice for herself, only to be unceremoniously dismissed, has left the Victim’s confidence in our country’s justice system severely compromised, leaving her wondering if she will ever manage to find any sort of closure for the injustice that she endured.

It’s been common knowledge for some time the attitude that is often displayed towards those who speak up against abuse has caused many to remain silent at the risk of ridicule or even shame, which is ironic for a country that has such a significant amount of GBV to eradicate.
