Actress Zenokuhle Maseko Bows Out Of ‘The River’

Actress Zenokuhle Maseko hung her shoes as Mbali Dikana on one of South Africa’s prolific telenovela The River.

The young actress played the sassy and outspoken daughter of the antagonist Lindiwe Dlamini-Dikana for almost 2 years.

She has been lauded for delivering her emotionally-charged final scene, which she says came easy for her without digging deep, having played and lived as Mbali for 2 seasons.

Zanele has praised the cast of The River for welcoming her with warm arms and says she’s learned so much coming in into the industry as a fresh face.

Bidding her farewell, fellow actress Larona Moagi expressed how sad she is to see her leave the show. “You are a phenomenal person, I think you’re an incredible actress and I know it only gets higher from here”, she says.

Zanele says the character has not only cemented her name in the industry but also allowed her to relax, open up more and let loose from her very shy and reserved personality. In terms of her career, playing Mbali has also given her sizeable amount of recognition every young performer yearns for in South Africa.

The actress says she was sad to hear of her departure because how everyone on set has become her family. In an interview with Newsroom Afrika she urged the public to be on the lookout of her next big move.
