‘Idols SA’ Winners: Where Are They Now? Over the course of 13 seasons, ‘Idols SA’ spawned some of the music industry’s biggest stars.  Before the winner of season 14 gets announced, why not take a stroll down memory lane and catch up with the original run’s 13 lucky winners?

We take a nostalgic look back on the high and low notes the reality show’s champs have struck in their careers. Grab a glass of red wine and dim the lights . . . here we go….

Paxton Fielies 2017

The Winner of Season 13 Idols South Africa is currently busy recording her music and promoting it. 18-year-old Paxton released her first studio album “This Is Me” on 1 June 2018.

Noma Khumalo 2016

After winning the 12th season of Idols SA, Noma ended 2016 on a high note releasing her debut album Joy after a few weeks following her win. She also kicked off 2017 with her brand new second single, Moving On, taken from her debut album, collaborating with one of SA’s top producers, Sketchy Bongo.

Karabo Mogane 2015

SA Idols season 11 winner Karabo Mogane is now a radio host on UJFM. In July 2018, he released a new single titled Nginothando. The R&B and Afrosoul musician’s single is an easy going, singalong love ballad that will be part of is his upcoming album.

Vincent Bones 2014

Known by his fans as Vincent Bones, he received fame when he won season 10 idols in 2014. Since then has been catapulted into the limelight. From street kid to Boys Town resident to one of SA’s best musicians, his debut album Shaded soul released in 2014 saw him collaborate with some of the country’s biggest names in music namely Jaziel Brothers, Kwesta, RJ Benjamin and more.

Musa Sukwene 2013

31-year-old Musa Sukwene was the winner of season 9 Idols South Africa. Since winning Idols South Africa in 2013, Musa Sukwene has released two studio albums, namely ‘The Dream’ and ‘Mr Serious’ – which brought to life a national anthem, ‘Mthande’ featuring the legendary late multi-award-winning singer and producer Robbie Malinga.

Khaya Mthemthwa 2012

The winner of season 8 Idols South Africa. 30-year-old Khaya Mthethwa is a host of Gospel Alive a Gospel TV show that premiered 3 November 2013 on Multichoice DSTV’s Mzansi magic channel. In 2015 he was ordained as a pastor. In 2014 he released a live DVD recording titled The Uprising.In 2016 he released The Dawn, and in 2018 he released Mkhulumsebenzi.

Dave van Vuuren 2011

David is the winner of the 7th season of SA Idols. After Idols, Dave has gone on to form an emotive, critically acclaimed Rock band called Southern Wild. They have played at some of Southern Africa’s most prestigious festivals including Oppikoppi, Rocking The Daisies, Up The Creek and STRAB. They were chosen as one of four Deezer Next artists for South Africa in 2017 and released their debut album a few weeks later in July. The album is titled, “Lead Role in a Classic Horror”. It was recorded by Raiven Hunter at Popsicle Studios in Woodstock, Cape Town and has gone on to be streamed over 500,000 times on Deezer, in countries such as Germany, Brazil, France, Australia and South Africa.
