Thandeka Mkhwanazi, who is better known as TDK Macassette hailing from KwaZulu-Natal Gqom vocalist comes from a corporate background and never once imagined that she would be dancing the vosho in front of thousands of South Africans.

Here are 5 facts you should know about the talented TDK Macassette;

1.Macassette started her career in entertainment at 14. Her first gig was doing a kiddies show on Ukhozi FM. She was also part of rapper HHPs biggest tours in Gauteng where she opened
his show amongst many other female dancers.

2. Her music career was kickstarted when she was discovered by award-winning producer DJ Maphorisa.

3. Since then she has worked with Mzansi music heavyweights including  Dj Cndo, Zakwe, Dj Tira, Dj Maphosrisa, Bucks and Cassper Nyovest.

4. Besides being a dancer and a singer, Macassette is also an entrepreneur, who owns her own communications company called Tdeeiosion Communications Management. The company has done some work for DJ Tira’s company Afrotainment, Metro FM Awards, Durban July, and Goven Mbeki Awards.

5. One evening while visiting a friend’s studio, Thandeka attempted to sing, “I was just messing around but then something amazing came out.” From then onwards, Thandeka did not look back, she released a single titled Gushshe, followed by iWalk ye Phara by featuring DJ Maphorisa.
